Kenivah Bockari, widely known as DJ KenZo, was born and raised in Stockton, California, by his parents, Martha and Sam, who immigrated from Sierra Leone, Africa. Their cultural heritage played a pivotal role in shaping his early musical influences, introducing him to artists like Oliver N’Goma, Bunny Mack, Prince, Michael Jackson, and Dr. Dre. His deep-rooted connection to African traditions—celebrating life, marriage, and family—became the foundation of his journey as a DJ, allowing him to express these passions through music.

Surrounded by the vibrancy of African celebrations, Kenivah was inspired by legendary African DJs, including his Uncle Muhamed, DJ Sensai, and DJ Leone. His unique style, deeply reflective of his heritage, is amplified by his signature "Kenergy," an infectious energy that electrifies every crowd he engages.
